These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your booking and stay at RAYS Guesthouse, Thulusdhoo Island, Kaafu Atoll, Republic of Maldives. By making a reservation or accessing our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

• "The Property" refers to RAYS Guesthouse and all facilities operated by it on Thulusdhoo Island.
• "Guest" refers to any individual who makes a booking or stays at the Property.
• "Booking" refers to a confirmed reservation for accommodation and/or services at the Property.
• "Services" refers to all accommodation, dining, experiences, and other offerings provided by RAYS Guesthouse.

2. Reservations & Confirmation

All reservations are subject to availability. A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit and a written confirmation from RAYS Guesthouse. We reserve the right to decline any reservation at our discretion.

Rates quoted at the time of booking are in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Rates are per room per night and include any inclusions specified in your package. Taxes and service charges may apply and will be communicated at the time of booking.

3. Deposit & Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total booking value is required to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due upon arrival or as otherwise agreed in writing at the time of booking.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and bank transfer. All payments must be made in USD. Bank transfer fees, if applicable, are the responsibility of the guest.

4. Cancellation Policy

The following cancellation policy applies to all bookings unless a different policy is specified in writing at the time of booking:

• More than 30 days before arrival: 50% deposit forfeited; no further charge.
• 15–30 days before arrival: 75% of the total booking value is charged.
• Less than 14 days before arrival / no-show: 100% of the total booking value is charged.

All cancellations must be notified in writing to azayabeachmaldives@gmail.com. Cancellations are effective from the date written notice is received. We strongly recommend that guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, curtailment, and medical emergencies.

5. Modifications

Requests to modify a booking (change of dates, room type, or number of guests) are subject to availability and may be subject to a rate adjustment. Modifications must be made in writing. We will endeavour to accommodate reasonable requests, but cannot guarantee the availability of the originally booked accommodation for modified dates.

6. Check-in & Check-out

Standard check-in time is 2:00pm. Standard check-out time is 12:00pm. Early check-in and late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability, and may be subject to an additional charge. Please contact us in advance if you require early or late check-in/out.

Guests are required to present valid photo identification (passport) at check-in as required by Maldivian law.

7. Guest Conduct & Island Customs

Thulusdhoo is a predominantly Muslim community island. Guests are expected to respect local customs and dress codes, particularly outside the guesthouse premises. Modest clothing is required when walking through the island, and swimwear is not appropriate away from the beach area of the guesthouse.

Thulusdhoo is a local island where local laws and community customs apply. Guests must not bring prohibited items onto the island or the Property, and are responsible for complying with all applicable Maldivian laws during their stay. Guests found in violation of Maldivian law will bear sole responsibility for any legal consequences.

The following conduct may result in immediate removal from the Property without refund:

• Behaviour causing disturbance to other guests or staff;
• Damage to Property or its facilities;
• Violation of Maldivian law;
• Disrespectful conduct towards staff, other guests, or the local community.

8. Smoking Policy

Smoking is not permitted inside any rooms or enclosed areas of the Property. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available. A cleaning fee of USD 150 will be charged to guests found smoking in non-designated areas.

9. Damage & Loss

Guests are financially responsible for any damage to Property, fixtures, furnishings, or equipment caused by themselves or their party during their stay. The cost of repair or replacement will be charged to the guest's account. RAYS Guesthouse is not liable for the loss, theft, or damage of any personal belongings during your stay. Guests are encouraged to use in-room safes where available and to take appropriate precautions.

10. Activities & Excursions

Activities and experiences (diving, surfing, water sports, fishing, excursions) are provided subject to weather and sea conditions. We reserve the right to cancel or modify activities where safety is a concern, and no refund or compensation will be issued in these circumstances. Guests participate in all water activities at their own risk and are responsible for disclosing any relevant medical conditions prior to participation.

11. Transfers

Transfer arrangements made through RAYS Guesthouse are provided by third-party operators (including River Speed and MTCC). RAYS Guesthouse is not liable for delays, cancellations, or incidents arising from third-party transfer services. Transfer schedules are subject to change without notice.

12. Force Majeure

RAYS Guesthouse shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, extreme weather events, government actions, public health emergencies, or disruptions to transport infrastructure. In such cases, we will endeavour to offer alternative dates or a credit, but are not obligated to provide a full cash refund.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RAYS Guesthouse's total liability to any guest in connection with their stay shall not exceed the total amount paid by that guest for the relevant booking. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from a stay or use of our services.

14. Website & Intellectual Property

All content on the RAYS Guesthouse website, including text, photography, branding, and design, is the property of RAYS Guesthouse or its licensors. Unauthorised reproduction or distribution is prohibited. We make every effort to ensure the accuracy of information on this website, but reserve the right to update content, pricing, and availability without notice.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Maldives.
